I'm not sure Rene would really end up with a profit under the above scenario. Remember he's giving out the chip free to people attending the show. Presumably most of those people would be attending the show even if he wasn't doing this chip. Say 500 people attend the show and 500 extra chips are sold through people by buying multiple addmissions. That's $2500 minus the $250 donation to to the building fund for $2250. I wouldn't be surprised if Rene (and his partner) aren't bearing the cost of having the chips made which would be in the neighborhood of $4000. So he'd still be in the hole if he ended up with 3000 left. I think the thing that Rene could do that would make more people happy (he'll never make everyone happy of course) would be to make this a NCV chip.
