Re: Request info on the Harrah's Pink $2.50

Look at page 41 of the club Mag. Although I can't see how the Xrays prove anything except the real one is slightly different than the known fakes. But if the core is real, then why is the real $2.50 pink different from the other real cores?

I was kind of hoping that the lettering, weight or something else could be used to identify the original from the creative restorations.

I'm assuming that the core for the color altered chips is a real $2.50, once used at Harrah's.

I might as well continue. If you read the letter/article from Mel, he points out that no pink was ever made? This leads me to be even more confused than usual.

Mel also states that the Mfg. did not mold the chips, but supplied the cores, and the casinos would have the plastic applied. Mel also writes that the Mfg. has no record of a chip being made with that color. "Injection molding was never done by Reliable, nor Royce 600..."

If the chip Mfg. didn't do the molding, how would they know which colors were made?

Mel also states that neither Harrah's nor Reliable recall producing a $2.50 pink with 16 brass inserts.

So what's the Genuine Pink $2.50 on page 41?
And by the way, the uncast core, and the "Original $2.50" (I assume it's the pink) Xray, do match. I'm not a Xray Tech. so maybe someone can explain the lines and dark spots on the Altered chip Xray? Are these holes and a notch from the chip being canceled and then restored?
