I feel there are 2 variants but this is not one. I do not think this should be a variant. Allen- Linen also refers to the old style like TR King crown chips that actually had a linen insert.
I do see wear on the first chip. Clean it & rescan it & show us the difference then. When made some chips are stamped with more of the overcoating that gives chips a different look. Some get a 3-D appearance to the inlay. I like this! Makes the chip really stand out. I have seen boxes where some have this look & others do not. Not for Nevada Club though.
Also the difference that I recall is one is the older nicely cut round inlay & later, like yours are out of round. One has the Nevada Club larger. Kent you have both to scan right?
Fitzgerald Vegas were like this, Las Vegas Club, etc. I can not think of other Reno like this right now. Later manufacturing was sloppy & chips came out with very out of round inlays.
