People with closed minds often believe that the great works of the past represent an ultimate artistic vision not to be revisited and built upon. People who understand the artistic process realize that all great art draws on that which came before it and in some way reinterprets it.

I could explain to you in excruciating detail why what Moby did is far from desecration. It is no more so than when Bob Dylan turned to an electric guitar, or when Lomax himself dared to try to record a form of music that had traditionally been passed down unwritten and unrecorded, from mouth to ear. But the truth is, if you're willing to comdemn Moby's work without having listened to it, it indicates to me that your mind is most likely so closed to new things that it would be a waste of my time to go into any more detail.

What i can tell you is that fans of Moby, thanks to his work, have opened their minds to the ideas of other generations. Too bad you can't do the same.
