If a person KNOWS that there may be a hassle with an item like a pair of sissors, a small penknife, or a toy, THEN DON"T BRING THE FRIGGING THING WITH YOU! Its not like we don't know ahead of time that you may have a problem with screeners at the airport.

This was a pet peeve of mine as well. Having been through tons of airports all over the world - even before Sept 11, it always amazed me that people would come to the airport to travel dressed in every metal thing they owned and then wonder why the detector when off (metal chains attached to their wallets, metal boots, cell phones in their pockets, bolo ties, huge belt buckles).

Now its the same thing - what part of "dont bring penknives to the airports" don't people understand.
