Yes I agree that there are overzealous screeners and the breast milk and GI Joe were probably handled wrong. But as someone who has since Sept 11th actually had to stand in front of long lines screening visitors at several national monuments for 12 hours at a time, I can tell you that the easiest way to be fair was to either ban an item altogeather or not at all. Is a 2" penknife ok but not a 4" knife? Is a plastic toy gun ok but not a metal one? It goes on and on and people get really p*ssed when you have to make these decisions on a case by case basis.

If a person KNOWS that there may be a hassle with an item like a pair of sissors, a small penknife, or a toy, THEN DON"T BRING THE FRIGGING THING WITH YOU! Its not like we don't know ahead of time that you may have a problem with screeners at the airport.
