NCR-question for the board attorney's

For those of you in my age group, you might remember the question Baby Snooks used every week, which was "Why Daddy." In that some light , I ask these questions to the knowledgable ones.

As I stated, this has absolutely nothing to do with chipping but if possible I would like the following question(s) answered:

With the realization that the meaning of the word "is" differ upon who is using it, what does the word "life sentence" mean? What does the sentence "life without parole" mean? Why is someone who is expected to live a 'normal' life span given a sentence of 230 years. Why not 100 years, or why not just "life?"

Why is not a person who is given a sentence of say 20 years, forced to serve 20 years. If he is not a model prisoner and commits additional crimes while in prison just have time added to his sentence instead of having time reduced?

And last but not least (and may God forgive me for this question as I am not wishing any bad happening to anyone,) but why is it that it seems as if no crime is ever committed against those who take the sides against the bad guys and somehow fault the innocent?

I've tried to keep this non political (which for me is very difficult) so if someone would like to answer some of these questions in that same vein I would appreciate it.

By the way, both the chips below are on jackpot auction if your interested.

In addition, I have a few slots on ebay for your viewing pleasure with more to add tomorrow.
