The Trump Marina was Rockin’ big time this last weekend with the Sammy Hagar/David Lee Roth Concert on Saturday………..

Hats’ off to the Marina, Sammy Hagar, Todd Moyer and everyone else involved with pulling off a great weekend. It was nice meeting you Todd! – Thanks for the Drink. The Trump Marina Deck really is the place to be on a Friday Night in AC. Can’t wait to go down with my wife in a couple weeks.

Being a long time Sammy fan I decided to head down to AC both Friday and Saturday night and see as much of him as I could.

Friday Night was the $100,000 lime toss into the Margarita Glass. All of this took place on the “The Deck” and started with 15 beauties in a bikini contest. Donald Trump and his lovely wandered down to the deck to observe and say a few words to the crowd. Craig Gass was on stage improvising to fill in time. He’s a regular on the Howard Stern show and was on HBOs “Sex and the City” last night. I ran into him Saturday after the concert. Nice Guy. Shortly after the bikini contest and a few shots of Cabo Wabo Tequila, Sammy pulls up behind the stage on a Coast Guard Boat with 11 of the bikini girls, comes on stage and starts jammn’ with the band Animal House to “Mas Tequila”. Tequila shots were flying everywhere and Sammy sounded great. After the song one person was randomly picked for the contest and missed his attempt to toss a lime wedge into the glass from 20 feet away and win $100,000 – but still went home with $1,000 and the chance to jam on stage with Hagar. The security guards then let down the ropes and allowed us to move right to the stage. I was standing directly in front of him, no more than 10 feet, while he played 2 more songs. According to redrocker.com (Hagar’s website), you will be able to download a video version of the lime toss at some point. Hagar departed and Animal House came back on for the rest of the night.

Saturday Night was the concert in the Grand Cayman ballroom, general admission standing only. I got there early enough so when they opened the doors I ended up in the very front and a couple feet left of center stage. Unbelievable. First time ever I’ve been in the front row of a concert. The concert was just great. Hagar kicked a--- as the opening act. He puts on a heck of a show. Roth was still himself but sounded good. Like someone said, close your eyes and just imagine Van Halen was playing behind him and it will be much better. The difference in the two is quite simple.
