I DON'T KNOW IF YOU ARE RUNNING McAfee or norton anti Virus software, but if you keep your virus definitions from your particular company up to date you should be fully protected unless you get hit by a virus they don't know about yet. Usually they know very quickly and I get an email to update as soon as they find it. I also have a task scheduler to update virus definitions every am. As far as Microsoft and Outlook they will be scanned as you receive email or try to download by your anti virus software, so no they is nothing special to do for them.
