I would stroll through the local Bed Bath and Beyond or other Kitchen type store looking for a canister with a good seal. Granted, this is going to run you around $5 - $10.

How about a Mason jar with one of those metal clamps/rubber rings that some of them come with? Breakable, but certaninly air tight. You could drop in one or two of those silca (sp) packs to help with moisture.
