Good Morning Jim,
I understand the need or desire to know individual names when understanding ones OWN transactions involving the purchase or sale of hobby related items.
However, many times the PUBLIC display of such names is not proper or fair to those IF ABSOLUTE PROOF can not be obtained. Proof is often very difficult when one is not privy first hand as to what happened.
You would think bright individuals would have enough "brains" to pick up a phone and call a person to discuss the "history" of such transactions both good and bad. In a private conversation one can give "opinions" based upon happenings heard and constructed without placing oneself in TOTAL vulnerability.
I even went so far as to refer the readers to my prior writing about "New Finds" I did in 1998. The article discusses "networking" information. Yet, somehow the concept is left at the door along with their judgement necessary as to HOW to acquire information.
Apparently there are those who believe this BB is the ONLY source to obtain learning. Boy, if that is the case is this HOBBY in trouble.
Thank you for your note and your good work on the brass core issue. The same concepts I am writing about here are pushed aside where THIS NECESSARY NEED for names must be satisfied rather than the NEED to obtain the knowledge as to HOW to identify such a chip.
I really get angry when I try to help and share information. I give out as much as I feel comfortable in making public. YET NOT ONE person calls for the rest of the story. I hope this is not representative of the future of our hobby!
What a way to run a railroad
Best, Jim
