Thanks, Jim. Since I made my post responding to yours, I've received e-mails from three collectors who I know have been in this hobby much longer than I have. Each of them asked me to let them know if I found out who Mr. S and Mr. B were. So, maybe the Stray Antler story isn't universally well known. I've heard lots and lots and stories in this hobby - and hearing the stories often is as much fun as collecting chips - but I hadn't come across that one before.
