I just posted this on the CC & GTCC Bulletin Board.

During the recently concluded Annual Convention, I realized that I wanted to be actively involved in the Club again. To that end, I am announcing my candidacy for Secretary of the CC & GTCC Board of Directors.

The Board has an incredible responsibilty. As the Club grows, the challenges and issues that the group faces will become more and more complex. It's important that the people elected to decide these issues are dedicated to doing what is right for Club as a group. Our hobby is growing every day. I believe I can effectively represent the general membership and help lead the organization as it grows. The office of Secretary fits my training and my interests. My plans if elected are to expand on the communication between the Chapters and the Board, work with the Chapter presidents to promote all branches of the Club, to communicate with the general membership on a consistant basis and to positively represent the CC & GTCC.

I've been a member of the CC & GTCC for five years. I've served as a convention volunteer, most recently as the Convention Co-Chair for the 2000 and 2001 events. I produced the Convention Program, managed volunteers, organized the first registration packages and handled various other aspects of the convention. Those duties required that I work with many other members and that I listen to concerns and work through problems in order to be effective in my job. I believe those skills will suit me in the position of Secretary as well.
