I think Hollywood Park already did a jockeys series of chips. This series will probably stick to Derby and Triple Crown winners, I hope.

As far as best trainer, best jockey, etc. - I really don't have a clue.

I'd have to say the craziest race must be the Kentucky Derby. No one ever has any idea who is going to win it, or even who the favorite is or should be. I've been saying for ten years "Just pick a twenty-something dollar horse and you'll have a chance." I've never really thought about it until this year but, as a non-handicapper, let me run this by you concerning the Derby:

None of the entrants are mature. Few have run the distance required in the race. All are running in a far more crowded field than is typical. They are all still developing and have no established performance in the event at hand. Voila, no one has any clue who the favorite is. It's almost like a debutante ball. There's no telling who's going to go the distance!

It sounds like a sacrilege, but if the classic races were run by four year olds, it would be a whole different story.
