I have spoken to a number of housekeepers and have learned some distressing things about their tips and tokes. First, 90% of occupants do not tip at all. Second, unless the tip is designated by a note or left on the bed, the housekeeper cannot take it. Third, tips are generally not pooled, so tipping on the last day only results in an inequity because it may not be the same housekeeper. So, as we get ready for the convention, please remember that these folks don't make a lot of money, they work hard for what they make and their employers don't treat them as well as they should. Please leave a decent tip daily.
