Let me first start by saying that i don't gamlbe where i work. nor are dealers allowed to play in the casino where we work. Anyone who knows me, knows of me, or has met me knows I am an honorable guy and I am truthful in what i am about to say.
I am like any other chip buyer out there. I dont get any inside info, except what i read on the chipboard or if I hear rumors circulating around the rock. I wait in line up to 4 or 5 hours just like anyone else.
As far as me finding the hagar chip, this is what happened, believe me or not.
I had out of town guest visiting on my days off. they stayed at the hard rock because they knew I worked there. I was meeting them down there for a drink on my day off and i was standing behind him when he was playing $5 dollar blackjack. a fill came on the game, while i was standing there, and my mouth dropped open to see a stack of $5 dollar sammy hagar chips and two $25's. I asked my buddy to buy them off the game for me. that is the truth.
It was just dumb luck.
The deal was high rollers were handed CD sets of chips last night at a gala dinner held for them. it contained two 25's and two 5's. most of them are still in the players hands, but some of them were gambled on the game. I can't tell you how my chips made it into the fill, but i am telling the truth.
I just wish all collectors had an opportunity to purchase at least one 25 so their collections could stay in tact. I guess I was fortunate.
