Hi Larry,

Do you it from somewhere solid that the Padre was owned by Jerry Brown's grandfather? In 1945 Edmund G. "Pat" Brown was the San Francisco Districit Attorney and was very anti-gambling. It was his battle against gambling that helped get him elected California Attorney General.

On the other hand when Pat Brown married Bernice (who just died last week) he joked that his father-in-law might arrest his father someday since his father was a gambler and hers was a police captain.
