Has anyone ever verified a chip from the Padre cardroom in San Francisco? In 1945 it was one of the big 3 legal card clubs, the other two being the Menlo Club and theSommerton Club, a ten table club in the Sommerton Hotel. Owner of the Padre Club was Ed Brown, father of Edmund "Pat" Brown, who would later become San Francisco County district attorney. Chips might say "EB" or "Padre" or some such.
