Ol' Jim Was A One of A Kind.....

Dale Seymour bought his Ivory, MOP and most of his clay. Jim was the original finder of many great chips such as the 12 1/2c Club Bingo. We thought $10 was a lot of money for it in 1984. grin I got all of the Franklin Mint original token sets, 1965-1969, from Jim. He was a coin dealer for many years before he became a chip & token collector. He loved MOP's & Ivories. When I was selling my ivory collection in 1990, almost 500 different pieces, Jim gave me some sound advice. He said, "You have had your enjoyment from them. Now, sell them to someone for $10 a chip & let someone else have the pleasure." I said, "Jim, I'm as fond of a good time as anyone, but I can have a lot more pleasure at $40 a chip." Strangly, when he sold his collection, he kind of forgot his advice and held out for top dollar. vbg
