My most recent acquisition.....

With all due respect to the late Mr. James Reynolds, whom I never met (but he was well known within the collecting community) I am honored that I was able to rescue his personal copy of Bill Borland's "The Official Blue Book of Casino Chips and Gaming tokens" which was also inscribed by Borland on the Title page (scanned below).

For several years I have been getting my chip flips from a local coin and antique glass bottle dealer, who from time-to-time gets slot machine tokens. During the course of my visits I have noticed that he had a copy of the Blue Book (a light blue, three-ring vinyl binder) that he uses to establish prices of tokens and chips. (Although he never seems to have any chips!)

Anyway, I told him that the Blue Book is antiquated and that I was interested in having that copy. He said that he would trade me the Blue Book for a replacement book, which I have now done with TCR #7 (thank you Luke Rapley!).

James Reynolds was a coin and chip collector here in Tucson and a member of the CC & GTCC. When he passed away (at least 5 years ago, I believe) his coins and reference books end up with this coin dealer. I do not know where the chips went.

I am glad to have a copy of Borland's Blue Book and I'm glad to have rescued this copy.

Respectfully,

Jim Follis
