Re: A question about TCR $$$ and new finds

Allan would usually jummp on a question like this, but he's in Las Vegas right now instead of on his computer at home where he oughtta be, so I'll take a crack at it.

Short answer Scott: no hard and fast rules.

Long answer: there are a number of factors at play. It's clear that finding a box of Q-level chips would lower their value. But there are more considerations than simply the number of chips. What condition are they in? Who has them?

Are they under the control of one person, or are they spread around among several? Is the person who has them willing to sit on them until they're sold, regardless how long it takes, or (as with the two Dunes roulettes hawked here on Greg's board) is it more likely that the owner will try to sell as many as possible at high prices, then dump the rest when initial sales fade?

What casino is it from, and how many collectors collect from that area and that casino? Translation: all Q's are not equal.

Do you have something specific in mind, Scott?

Michael
