Thanks for taking the time to explain your position however I just have to make a comment to your following statement:

There was no line. These chips were released prior to "line" announcements. I called the cage on the morning of May 5th at 9:30 and was told the chips would be available at 10:15 AM. I got to the hotel and was at the cage at 10:05 where I was told that the $25 chip was sold out. I ran around the casino figuring I would run into someone that I would be able to buy a chip from. I saw two prominent chippers eating breakfast in the coffee shop but I ran into no other chippers that morning. Almost two years later these two are the ONLY ones I have heard of who were able to buy the chips at face value from the cage. If there was a "line", it was a line of three.

As Andy pointed out, chips were immediately available from employees but at quite a premium.

BTW, I personally know of five collectors who left our hobby because of this chip.
