Pete,
I would not even consider a price section for slabbed & what you call devalued chips.
I don't know if and when I will ever do another book. If slabbing happens & chips go way up in value should I have a section for slabbed chips reflecting that? I could add 100 grades. I am not looking for this & figure you must be joking about adding a section to list Sahara Coins chips. He is the only one selling slabbed chips. He knows so much he should write his own book.

Reason he does not have a book is he demanded his money back for the first one through my partner Steve. He did not like our comments in our book! Well we wrote it & we will say what we want. Yes it was a bit controversial but I think most will agree that most coin dealers are not upstanding citizens. This was our first book. Maybe he got a copy somehow. Actually I think the guy working with him bought my first book before he worked there.

It drives me nuts when my book is misquoted or those in the know make quotes from the first edition when they could look up what is in the second. I see quite a few auctions that will quote me or the Chip Rack depending on which is higher priced in many instances. I write to many about their misquotes & misinformation. I spend a lot of time monitoring chips sold on eBay.

If I was to write a book on where to find good deals on chips eBay would be included. This is not however the definitive source for seeing a true value of a chip. At least for low end chips this applys. As I saw in another post about the eBay slump on cheaper chips that too many of are pushed on eBay constantly. Of course that could happen with anything. We need to all work to grow the hobby. Many on this board have done that. Better chips continue to suprise many of us & as you will see I am listing more better chips regularly now. More than other dealers. (see link below. See Sands $1,000). It is a chance sometimes but everything is a gamble. Sometimes like in the case of the Flamingo chips I will get a consingment. I will then need to get a certain price. If I am lucky the chip will go for more than 5% of what I have to actually give them. Many don't want to take a chance & set a reserve. Good chips are hard to come by & it seems no one wants to give them away much less sell them. We at casino rarities are always seeking better chips to buy or take on consignment. We don't get much at all. I wish we would get offered some better chips so we can buy them. I feel we can pay better than most dealers as we have a very strong clientele for better chips.

Ok I babbled enough. I better get back to work! I have tons of collectors writing with questions. Many are wanting to sell LE's or trade for older chips. I better see if any good deals can be made today.
