Bob, now you know there is very little pre-1900 material (printed material) except for French catalogues that refer to pearls, metal and Celluloid-type plastics as jetons. Jetons (which are tokens) are mentioned in some German and polish reading. I'm sure there is much more in Europe that I don't know about.

BTW, I'm not a "coin guy" as you think. Never owned more that 20-coins in my whole life. I do follow the hobby to contact numistmatists who help add on to my collection of jetons and plaques, though.
