Our club code of ethics states that members promise

To furnish requested advice to the best of my ability and knowledge, and not to take advantage of superior knowledge on my part to the disadvantage of a less knowledgeable collector.

Your post reads as if you don't agree with this?

Personally, I'm glad this is a part of our code of ethics although I don't think it's too enforceable. I think many new members get taken advantage of, although I think the vast majority of club members don't take advantage of newcomers and treat them the way we'd all like to be treated.

I do agree completely with your post that name-calling has no place in the discussion. It is possible to disagree without being disagreeable.
