Another eBay Seller to Avoid

Here are the actual unedited emails where I was trying to inform the eBay seller that the information about the chips he is selling on eBay are not accurate.

Question for seller -- Item #1019267056

Your auction for these chips indicates that these are "rare". Since these are currently being sold by a gaming supply store in Las Vegas in unlimited quantities, why do you believe that they are "rare"?

There rare to me because the only place you can get these are in 1 store in las vegas and for people in new york or main or texas etc.... cant get them unless they go all the way to vegas tomthis 1 store . also you dont see these chips often . also if you can go to vegas and get them you dont think there rare then go do that and dont worry about bidding on them , im not forcing any body to buy them ok, i just put them up and people will bid on them rare or not . if they like what they see then its worth whatever they bid to them or they would not bid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same can be said for chips from absolutely anywhere. How often does a person from NY get to a card room in Washington State or a Canadian charity casino. How often does a collector in Vegas get to Atlantic City. Not very often. This has nothing to do with how rarity. These chips appear regularly on eBay. There are currently 7 active auctions for these chips and about 15 others that recently completely. These are not rare chips to anyone. It is a matter of principle that you may be misleading people into bidding for your auction on false information. The ones who get hurt by misleading informaiton are the new collectors who are just learning about this hobby. If they find out that they have been had, they may leave the hobby. As President of the New York Metro Chapter of the CC>CC I take an active interest in trying to grow the hobby. Auctions like yours do not help.

It is also misleading for you to state that this casino never opened. There have been chips that were ordered for casinos that were suppose to open and never got their gaming license. The Jockey Club is one example of several. There was never any plan to open a Capone's Casino. These chips are made for home use in poker games and definitely not for use in a casino.

You may think you are fair but I don't. You are misrepresenting the items. They are not casino chips, they are poker chips, and they are not rare. I will definitely not bid on any of your auctions.

I always go into these situations with the assumption that the seller is not aware of the exact nature of what they are auctioning. In almost every case the seller will thank me for providing information about what they are selling that they were not aware of. It is obvious to me that you are only out to make money selling these
chips any way you can. You are not interested in being truthful. I'll bet that you are not a member of the CC>CC.
