I've never felt they were the same mold Don. The chip I pictured is a very cheap chip, is very light and has a recessed ring around the center where the ring of dashes is.

The chip you pictured weighs quite a bit more, possibly with a slug in the center. There is no groove through the ring of dots in the center. It has a textured surface and appears to be much better quality.
