My fear was that many CA bound flights stop at Sky Harbor and that my friend could have been on one of those flights.

Thankfully - although stuck in NY - she is fine.
The daughter she was visiting is a nurse - she is also fine and will be heading to St Vincent's (?)Hospital this afternoon to relieve the first shift of hospital personnel working and will work until tomorrow.
