Re: slot tokens
In Response To: Re: slot tokens ()

I was rereading the posts in this thread to figure what you are refering to. I am confused. I just don't recall anyone making the assertion that coins in can come back out. The only way a coin you put in will come back out would be if it was rejected because it doesn't meet the specs of the casinos tokens. You are correct that the payouts are paid through fill that has been counted and bagged in bags of a set denomination They always know how much is going out through the machines. They then factor in what was in the "Drop Boxes" you refer to and they can get a clear picture of the win or loss that the machine represents. I understand that there are also two meters inside the machine that count coin in and coin out. I would assume that those numbers better match the numbers from the audit logs of the machines.

If you are referring to the fact that I have received foriegn coins in payouts, the only explaination would be that they do make it through "Hard Count" sometimes. In fact, all the ones I mentioned were the same color and probably weight and consistancy as the normal Orleans tokens. I haven't recieved any silver coins there. It may be that during "Hard Count" if they see a foriegn token it is removed but some inevitably will slip past. I know they have automated machines that are supposed to catch bad coins and currency but I would imagine that it is possible for some to slip through. Are these machines 100% accurate and do they use such machines to catch foriegn tokens.

Of course the reference here to Foriegn Tokens refers to anything not issued by a specific casino.
