Question: 60's Chip finds - C&S "LVC"

First, I want to thank everyone who posted or e-mailed me about those 11 chips my friend got on her trip to Las Vegas back in the 60's. Since my interests have always been $1 or less chips from the past 5-10 years, these chips were way out of my area of expertese. She and I are both greatly surprised by how valuable a find we have. I will probably be placing the chips up on E-Bay this Sunday (if I can get all the scans ready).

Regarding two of the chips, I would like any more information I can get. These two green crest & seal chips that were in the group were a real mystery to me. I never thought that "LVC" might connect one to the Las Vegas Club. Wayne Thompson wrote me "The LVC C&S you show most people feel is from the LV Club. They were found in the walls." Can anybody tell me when and how this worked? There has to be more to the story. I talked to my friend and she said she and a boyfriend went to Vegas for a bridge tournament in '68. While he was hitting the baccarat tables, she spent her spare time at the low limit blackjack tables, on her smaller budget, and she picked up a chip or token at the places she visited, trying to pick out the nicest one there. (How many of us can identify with THAT story!) Then she wrapped them in tissue and stuck them away when she got home. I asked about these two and she didn't recall which casino she got them from, but she did vividly remember that she sat down at a blackjack table to watch, not even playing. While sitting there, the dealer gave her the two green c&s chips "because he thought she was cute." (Being a gentleman, I told her she still was!) I don't know if this little bit of information is of any help to chip historians, and it would indicate an unsubstantiated possibilty that both chips were in use at the Las Vegas Club in the late 1960's. She recalled them as being used for spacers in the rack of chips, like the clear spacers are used at blackjack tables nowadays. When I first heard the "LVC" chip had something to do with the Las Vegas Club, my first guess was that it was an old roulette chip. Could this still be the case, with the chips being phased out of use on the wheel before being used as spacers on the blackjack tables? Did the LVC have a roulette wheel before the late 60's? Can any of the historians pin down anything in this mystery, or will it be a question that will continue to float in the back of my mind, where there is a huge empty space with lots of room for it to wander!
