Re: Slabbing - The death of our club?

Sadly I have to agree with you. While slabbing would not be good for the hobby I don't think that it is going to be the death of it either.
Everyone involved needs to take a step back and reassess the issues. My wife and I run our own business and our employees do a lot of things that we don't like. However, we have taken the attitude of "Let's take care of the important things and not worry about the small stuff". It has worked so far. The same is true with the club. If you don't like what the club board does then vote them out next time. While I don't want to throw rocks at any of my friends in the club, quitting a volunteer position because you don't agree with a board decision is nonsensical. Who will be hurt - the five board members or the other 2000 club members? Yes these positions are voluntary and you have the right to quit any time you want. I just want to express my disappointment but also want to thank those who have volunteered over the years. Unless you change your mind you will surely be missed.
