... the one in the church, anyway, came later, after I returned from Vietnam. We never did tell Sandy's parents about running off to Mexico to get married (finally did tell my parents after about 10-12 years).

We ended up with three wedding anniversaries (!!) -- when we went to Mexico, the lawyer gave us some paperwork to file in the clerk's office in San Diego, which recorded our wedding date as November 4, 1967. But, Mexican marriages then were done by proxy and the Mexican marriage certificate is dated November 20th. We got church married on December 7th of the following year.

So, there was a wedding involved!!
