I seem to recall having a similar problem with an earlier version of WP. I think all I did was re-install the software or restart the computer. You say though that you do not have the disc to reinstall from. May seem obvious to most but sometimes in frustration you over look some of the simplest solutions. I do not know how long you have been locked out. Have you shut down your computer since this happened. When you shut down your computer wait a couple of minutes and turn on your computer. Sometimes files are corrupted and restore themselves on start up. I have often had problems that have corrected themselves with a restart of the computer. If that does not or didn't work, I would first, find Windows Explorer on your computer. Or My Documents if you are saving files in that way. Locate the file in question, with your chip info, Save it to another disc ie: zip, floppy or something removable. Take this incedent as a warning sign and an opportunity to back up and copy all of your important information that you have on your computer. I have a zip disc and it holds quite a bit. Now you know the file is safe, no matter what happens, and you can put it into any computer that will handle a disc of that type. Either find a friend with WP or try to Open w/ Microsoft Word if it accepts the file type? Or as mentioned earlier get a copy of WP and re-install. Won't discount the Printer Driver problem but never heard of it before. Besides, like you, it is over my head too. One last thought. Don't overlook the need to find why the software crashed in the first place. I do not know where I found it but it is on my desktop. Go to My Computer. Single Click on C: and Right click your mouse. Click Properties and the computer will show you a Pie Chart of your Hard Drive. Make shure you are not running out of space. Repeat this process for all hard drives D: etc that you might have. Sometimes when you are running out of space things like this can happen. Good Luck
