Much of the problem can be traced to items we as individuals bestow legitimate authority upon. For example, price guides. We say with the same degree, if not more, of authority "Well, it's in the price guide as a Z25691". Like this somehow makes what we say absolute and not subject to error.

Over the course of the last several years I have tried in my own way to lessen the "authority" nature we bestow upon the guides and try to replace it with some individual effort in researching. Of course, this meets resistence from those who own and sell the chips listed in the price guides.

After all Z3 'taint a bad price for the T Bird chip.

Just a further comment. After I wrote the Thunderbird article establishing to the best of my ability "WHY" the chip was not a Vegas chip. A few high, deep pocket collectors went ahead and purchased the "25"'s that were for sale anyway. Now if that doesn't say it all, I don't know what does. Best, Jim
