also much of what James says is on the mark. I have gotten some excellent buys on eBay but have been sniped because like Archie I too cannot track on the late evening bids. However, in setting prices of most anything, auctions are a legitimate source--the results are admissible in court where value of an item is at issue. Having said that I still agree with Jimbo that merely because a particular chip goes for a particular price doesn't mean it is either too low, too high or the median. Many chippers do not buy on eBay and if they did, I suspect we would see high end chips go way up, assuming they truly are high end chips. Look what happens at the CC>CC auctions--some great prices realized for high end chips and I suspect those prices would not be gotten if the chip hit eBay even if the dealer publicized it.

I also agree that there is way too much junk on eBay that isn't being sold. But still eBay is fun for me and I'll keep playing.
