Born in Brooklyn and started going to Ebbets ...

... Field in 1952. My grandfather was a season ticket holder and I went with him to perhaps 20-30 games every year until the Dodgers left Brooklyn. In 1968, followed them to Southern California and went to many games at Dodger Stadium until the 1981 strike, after which I went to no games until 1986.

By then, I had moved to the Bay Area. In August 1986, my brother & I (and our wives) had dinner with Tommy Lasorda, Jay Johnstone and several others after a Dodger-Giant game. That won me back to baseball and I then went to every Dodger game at Candlestick Park until the 1994 strike (frequently buying 10 or more tickets for family, friends and clients; even bought a skybox for a game once). Haven't been to a game since, even though Tommy remains a friend.

I used to bleed Dodger Blue. Now I just don't care. College football is more fun anyway. Go Bears!

Much worse for baseball, three of my children who were baseball fans have joined me in my ongoing disinterest. Only my oldest son remains a fan, but even he rarely goes to a game. ----- jim o\-S
