Re: Is there a difference between..James.

There are more "factors" than one can imagine. Every mold needs to be looked at differently. This examination needs to be done with a very strong magnifying glass & Halogen light preferably over head but "on" head works best. For example of this see David Gehl at the next convention. You may recoginze him as he has been a die hard condition collector for many years. Light in hand at all times. There will be others too! You should see lots of lighting devices this year. Things will more serious than ever.

The second step is to use natural sunlight. This can be done while sitting on the comode & letting the light refract off the chips surface in a natural position. Only works if you have a skylight built in like I do. (To take the chip into an outside unnatural environment could do irreplaceable damage). I have one on both floors. One has UV 90 glass so the often intense light doesn't damage the chip. With high grade chips the sheen & luster can be seen quickly once wiped of any fingerprints or dust with a lint free cloth. I hear these special dusting cloth's should be available at one of the show tables this year.

A kit is being put together to include the appropriate items to be used in this scientific practice. SO far we have the light with extra bulbs of 3 different wattages. The glass with detachable loops. And the "cloth". Also the baby lamb skin gloves. Possibly the carbon fiber "tweezers" will be in the deluxe package.

A chant often helps to release the chips of any negative vibes or bad carma. I have a meeting with a Shamen tomorrow.

A micrometer & an outside dial caliper are essential tools in determining a final grade & where from a say 94.37458 the chip may finally fall. Thickness is very important. Each chip will need to be weighed as well & a small gold weighing scale is the most accurate I have found.

Once this is all done a client can move on to negotiations to buy said chip specimen.

See there are people you don't even know about that are looking into this. You couldn't comprehend to what level this will be taking our hobby. Hobby will then be an irrelevent term. A new location at a charnel will then be needed to house our convention.
