My Problem is ...

My problem is that I am frustrated with the treatment many posters to this BB receive. Negative responses, accusatory tone, outright hateful and hurtful comments are posted. Members and potential members, new people considering our hobby have found this BB and have posted comments regarding the negative conversation. They don't want to be part of this.

Perhaps I am too sensitive, perhaps I take my role as a club officer too seriously. I want our club to be first class, to be above petty differences and to be an organization that promotes the hobby, educates our membership and is open to all views.

I feel great when a new poster gets a "welcoming" response and Gene and Jim have been friendly and most helpful to so many.

The slabbing issue has divided members with strong opinions. We all need to be civil and understanding of each other. I admire all of those who have taken a stand on this and other issues. It is this strong sense of caring that we need to transfer to all that we do for the club.

Jim and Gene, I apologize if I interpreted any of your comments in the wrong fashion. But many posting on this BB have been mean-spirited in the past. I know that we can deal with all the issues in a professional manner that befits the first class status of our club.
