Doc, The Chip Rack numbering system ...

... is, because of its relative simplicity and generic approach, perhaps least capable of all of the chip numbering systems of being protected against use by undesired third parties.

You know I mean no criticism of KMW or TCR in saying that; who knew when you devised the system that protecting the numbers against use by others might be important some day?

Just back from the Palace Station show and ICG did have some actual slabbed chips (not samples) on display. Chips submitted by collectors for slabbing. And, the Nevada chips had the TCR numbers right on their encapsulated labels.

If you guys want to prevent that kind of use, it is essential that you write to ICG immediately demanding that they stop using your numbers. And, if they keep using them (my guess is that they will), you'll then have to make a choice about whether you want to try to enforce that proscription as is or make changes designed to improve the odds of being able to protect your product.

This is a difficult issue, Allan -- I think we should all continue working on it. ----- jim o\-S
