With all due respect, Jim, I personally feel
you're heading in the wrong direction by even
suggesting to ban any type of casino gaming material
from any club function.
We all know why Archie prevented the few coin and token dealers in our club from displaying a single coin or numismatic token in their display cases.
Those who collect antique gambling chips know what
Archie told leaders in the poker chips community
regarding advertising in the club magazine years
ago.
Jim, I'll be straight forward with you, I'm not in
favor of our club imposing any ban on any type of
casino/gaming material collected by our
members....and my sole concern at this point is what
other legal casino material will be attempted to be
banned in the future.
Regarding the slabbing of chips: Yes, I, too, have
no use for it....but some of our fellow collectors
do, and according to the current count which is less
than 10% of membership, many others do not want to
see a ban, either.
Why ban something members do not want banned?
