Funny you mention that. The same thing happened on the street I live on in "Heartland USA", Derby, Kansas last week. About 1 hour before my kids school let out (which is in the background of some of the photos), someone noticed a package with no markings sitting at the base of one of the cluster mailboxes on my street. The police were called & a decsion was made to call the bomb disposal unit from nearby McConnell AFB, evacuate the nearby houses, & to keep the kids in school late until this package was dealt with. The bomb guys got there & sent their robot down the street to have a look. It was then determined that they needed to blow it up (bomb disposal guy woody) just to be safe. From what I hear, someone is out a Christmas present. One of my neighbors was home & took the digital pics & here they are for your viewing pleasure.
