Re: Jim Gellette - My Friend
In Response To: Jim Gellette - My Friend ()

James,
Ann and I always had a great fondness for Jim. He was one of the very first people I met at the first club convention at the Aladdin. Over the years we had spent countless hours with Jim at the now famous Carl Jr's on Boulder Hwy, in the hallways, the coffee shop and the rooms during shows. During the years of running the convention there were few hours not taken up with show duties, but Jim, Ann and I always made time to visit. I treasured the stories he told of "Old Vegas", the times and characters he had seen and known over the years. Of course when we first met, it was to look at all the great old stuff he had, but as time went on, that becam less important than spending time with the man. I can't remember the last time I actually bought anything from him.

It is with great sadness that Ann and I learned of Jim's passing on Monday. He was a friend, a mentor, a historian, a man who loved his wife Kelly, but above all else, he was a true gentleman! Ann and I are richer people for having had the good fortune of knowing Jim Gellette. We will truly miss him.
