Re: I SAW BUT DID NOT WRITE

I figured that anyone who thought that airplanes were invented in the 19th Century deserved to get stuck. Some years ago at a flea market a woman heard me ask a dealer if he had chips and she said, "I have some chips that are more than a 100 years old." I asked her where she lived and she said she had them in her car. So we went to the car which looked to be about as old as she said the chips were. She opened the trunk and took out a carousel of the same plane chips as shown on the site. She said they had been in her family since before the turn of the century. I said, "That's interesting but this plane didn't fly until the 1920's." She grabbed the chips, put them back in the trunk, slammed the trunk and said, "Don't you tell me how old they are. They belonged to my great grandfather." So I blew a chance to get a set of 1880 Spirit of St. Louis chips.
