The more I thought about your post the more I realized how dangerous it is. To even entertain such a thought by you scares the Hell out of me. When Hitler came to power in Germany the first thing he did was to confiscate the guns from the people. He accomplished this because ALL guns were registered.<<

What scares me most is that someone could point to Cuba as a positive example of gun confiscation by a government. People wouldn't be risking their lives almost daily to escape a communist dictatorship if they thought that freedom isn't important. The desire for freedom is one of the traits that makes us human.

The way to prevent tyranny by a government is to have in place a way for it's citizens to protect themselves.

The way to prevent some punk from invading my household at his will is to know that I would (and can) shoot him. Colorado also has a "make my day" provision as law. If I have reason to believe that my life is threatened by your presence on my property, you (not you Jim) will take more than one bullet, it is a legal defense of my own life and I wouldn't be prosecuted for anything. I might have to replace the carpet and paint a wall or two, but that's about it.

Thou shall not kill ends when someone makes it known that they want to kill me. Self defense on every level MUST be protected.
