Here are some issues for the candidates

(sorry this post came out so disjointed; don't know why......)

I am happy to see these issues raised. I always planned to have a long post or letter to the Board about these concerns, but
off the top of my head I'll say this: The Board should do two broad things, and I would like to see candidates speak about
them:
(1) inform the membership about the chip policies of the major casinos, regulatory agencies and chip manufacturers in the
U.S.; and

(2) lobby the casinos, agencies and manufacturers to promote chip/hobby friendly policies.

For examples, it would be nice for the members to know and the club to influence these issues:
(a) when is it known how many limited edition chips are issued? Must it be announced? Can, years later, more limited
edition chips be issued?

(b) can a casino suddenly decide to reissue (order a new supply from the manufacturer) old house chips that have not been
used for scores of years?

(c) what are the rules about destroying old obsolete chips? Can a casino declare them obsolete and then sell them/auction
them? Can casinos suddenly use old obsolete chips (from the vault) on the tables as regular chips (or sell them at the
cage)?

These are just some of the issues. It would be nice for the candidates to say whether they will tackle these problems/issues once on the Board, and if they favor having the Club investigate and lobby on these concerns.. It would be a good idea for the club
to join with other Hobby Protection Act do-gooders to prevent reproductions, fantasy chips given casino names, etc.
