Thanks for your comments, Michael. You and I have done business together before via eBay, and I've always been satisfied with our transactions.

I think Peter Sanders said it well: one is presumed to intend the natural consequences of his actions and words. No, I actually didn't contact the eBay sellers. My intent wasn't to force corrective action (especially since two of the three auctions I quoted are over) or to recommend disciplinary action against anyone. I was merely clarifying the general ethical question raised at the CC>CC convention about auctions and descriptions.

You're exactly right: if the sellers are not members of CC>CC, our code of ethics certainly doesn't apply to them!
