Older LV Downtown postcards #5
In Response To: Older LV Downtown postcards #1 ()

Daytime photo after the Plaza had been built (but before it was named the UNION Plaza -- see sign on top). Note the white round thing at the entrance to the Plaza (where the smoke-colored dome, covering the restaurant is now). At that time, it was a small circular swimming pool!!

Left side of street: Pioneer with Vegas Vic; Coin Castle; the Sal Segev sign has been replaced by the current Golden Gate sign.
Rigt side of street: The Mint (has taken over the Bird Cage property); next block is the Carousel (where the Silver Palace was previously).Las Vegas Club now takes up the remainder of the block.

Hope you enjoyed these old photos. I think old postcards are useful in visualizing older casinos that you haven't personally seen. Various dealers at the convention will have old postcards for sale. Pick some up for your historical collection.
