Re: Questions about the Westerner Club, LV

Both....according to the "experts" from LA that have argued for years but condluded that they were used in Gardena (the hot bed of card rooms in the 40'50's) and then to LV. History shows Bill Harrah, Harold Smith, and about 30 other less notables had games in the LA area before going to Nevada and many of them brought their chips (Rex) to LV and Nevada. I dunno, I was too young to play in Gardena when I lived in Pomona in the 50's but I recall my buddy's Mom divorced Dad when he was addicted to going into "Gardinky" to play poker all nite. Stud, and Draw were the games and they were so successful they moved many to bigger fish in Nevada.
