Yes, you have it, at least the first part. I'm still mulling over the Bob gabel part!!! :-) On home PC's Y2K is only a concern to those who require their applications to read the correct date. On non-compliant machines, the date 1 minute after midnight will mean it is 01/01/1900, instead of 2000, but no data scrambling should occur, because to your PC's there is nothing wrong, it's just another day, and it "thinks" it has done exactly what it was supposed to do.
