Good morning Jim.... Good post, as usual.... Regarding opening bids.. as Robert Eisenstadt said in a previous post in so many words: the opening bid is not a barometer or measurment of rarity. Some low beginning points escalate to big money at the end on occassion. The Golden Nugget chip is another example of the word "rare" being misapplied... in MY opinion. The mere fact that a chip is no longer available on the gaming tables, does not make it "rare". Obsolete? ... Yes. Premium value? ... Yes. "Rare"? ... NOT!
